FAQs
What is a sound bath?
1
You lie down and listen while I play crystal singing bowls, and the sound fills the room around you while you rest in it. I started going to them when I was not sleeping and my mind would not stop running, and lying still with nothing asked of me was the first thing that gave me any relief. No experience is needed, and most of the people who come have never been to one before. Bring a yoga mat, a blanket, and a pillow if you have them, and wear something you can comfortably lie down in.
What happens during a session?

I open with a few minutes explaining what to expect, and then everyone settles into their spot and I begin to play. Nothing is asked of you beyond lying down and listening. There is no movement or poses to follow, and I stay at the front with the bowls the entire time and never touch anyone. You are welcome to use a chair if the floor is not comfortable, and if you fall asleep or need to step out, no one will think anything of it. We close with a few quiet minutes together and time for questions. This is rest rather than treatment, so if you are dealing with real anxiety, please stay in care with a doctor or a therapist as well.
Can a Christian do this?

Yes, and I am glad you asked. I spent a good while working through this myself, so I understand the question from the inside.
What settled it for me is that the bowls are an instrument, and Scripture is full of instruments. David played the harp for Saul and the sound brought him relief, and Psalm 150 names instrument after instrument as a way to worship. What makes music holy has never been the object in someone’s hands, it is where the heart is pointed while it is being played, and when I sit down with these bowls I am praying.
Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God,” is the verse I keep returning to, and everything I do here is built around it. If you are still unsure, take your time and pray about it. You are welcome whenever you are ready.
Can you come to my group, church, or event?

I would love to. I bring sound baths to small groups, churches, studios, retreats, and private events around Alpharetta and the greater Atlanta area, and I handle all of the setup and the instruments myself, so all you need is a room. Reach out and tell me a little about your group and what you have in mind, and we will figure out the rest together.
